ABOUT CYPRUS

Cyprus is located in the eastern Mediterranean and became a full member of the European Union in May 2004. It enjoys all the benefits of a sun drenched environment in which to relax and enjoy an outdoor lifestyle. The sandy beaches and rocky coves of the coastal landscape give way to pine covered mountains which rise out of the central plain.
In Cyprus you can enjoy all the pleasures of hot dry summers, where average temperatures range between 25-33C. The winters are very mild, with temperatures averaging 10-13C and you could spend a morning walking around the coast in the sunshine and be skiing in the Troodos mountains during the afternoon.
The history of Cyprus dates back to the Neolithic Age (8200-3900 BC) and cultural sites can be found throughout the island. After centuries of occupation and administration by foreign powers Cyprus became a republic in 1960.

Anyone considering buying property in Cyprus, will probably be aware of the Cyprus "problem". Approximately 37% of the north of Cyprus remains under military occupation since the invasion by Turkish forces in 1974. The island is separated by the “Green Line”, but there is restricted access between the north and the south.

During the past 5 years Cyprus has become a prime location for the purchase of properties by Europeans. Whether you are looking to purchase a holiday/retirement home or choosing to relocate for a change of lifestyle, you will find a very warm welcome awaits you from the people of Cyprus.
